# Engineering, consulting and IP

OEM development, special projects, firmware, software, IP and engineering in the grid-edge field. Named engagements with indicative durations and rates. We prove a capability, you buy it, then we finish it as a product.

We take engineering work in the field of our products: charger electronics and firmware, load balancing and site control, smart-meter and P1 handling, Matter, S2 and EEBus integration, device fleets on MQTT, and the platform behind them. If your question is one of those, we have usually solved a version of it.

Every product tier connects to this offer. A customer can start with a board, a charger or an integration and go deeper, because the same two engineers designed the whole stack, from architecture down to debugging.

## How we work now

We no longer finish products before anyone has asked for them. We make sure we can build something, we show it works, and we finish it into a product when it is sold. Development is fast; sales cycles are long. That is why this site marks capabilities as "implemented, on order" rather than promising a shipping date.

## Engagements

Rates are indicative for 2026, excl. VAT, confirmed in a quote. To be confirmed by EdgeTech.

| Engagement | What you get | Duration | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architecture review | Written assessment of your charger, controller or HEMS design: electronics, firmware, protocol choices, certification path, what will break in the field. Read-out meeting. | 2 weeks | € 6,000–9,000 fixed |
| Design-to-CE for an AC charger | From schematic or concept to a CE-declared Mode 3 charger: electronics (or our boards), firmware, enclosure integration, EMC/LVD test coordination, technical file. | 4–6 months | € 45,000–90,000 |
| NTA 8043 / NCS 8043 readiness | Gap analysis against NCS 8043:2026, the missing control behaviour, test evidence, the self-declaration package. | 8–12 weeks | € 15,000–30,000 |
| S2 or EEBus integration | Your heat pump, battery or charger as an S2 resource manager or EEBus device, tested against the reference implementations. | 6–10 weeks | € 18,000–35,000 |
| Matter integration and certification | Your device as a Matter 1.4 device over Thread or WiFi, commissioned into a controller we run; CSA certification on request (fees pass-through). | 6–10 weeks | € 20,000–40,000 |
| OCPP 1.6J for your project | The working implementation finished into a product for your CPMS. | on request | on request |
| Fleet platform | MQTT device platform with per-device keys, OTA, telemetry with units defined, admin UI; on your hosts or ours. | 6–8 weeks | € 25,000–45,000 |
| Firmware and bus troubleshooting | A field problem nobody can reproduce: Modbus timing, vehicle wake-up, WiFi in meter cupboards, P1 variants. | by the day | € 1,150 per day |

## Can EdgeTech take my charger from schematic to NTA 8043 self-declaration, and what does it cost?

Yes: the design-to-CE engagement plus the NTA 8043 readiness engagement, in sequence or overlapping. For a charger on our boards, expect 5 to 7 months and roughly € 60,000 to € 110,000 in engineering, excluding test-house fees and enclosure tooling. Indicative. The [questionnaire](/solutions/questionnaire) tells us what we need for a real number.
