# Data services

The EdgeTech backend has electricity prices (imbalance, day-ahead, multi-day forecast), weather forecasts, and a solar production forecast per installation from panel orientation and predicted cloud cover. They feed smart charging, the HEMS and the advice services, and are available to partners.

## What it is used for

- Charging in the cheapest hours and around negative prices.
- Solar-surplus charging that starts before the sun does, because the forecast says it will.
- HEMS policies ("use the cheapest energy") and the energy-advice services.
- Available to partners through the platform's API, and to agents through the MCP server, where the sources allow it.
