About EdgeTech
A technology and engineering company in Utrecht, founded in 2008, building chargers since 2020. Owned and run by two engineers, both PhDs in applied physics, with decades of software and hardware experience from architecture down to debugging.
History
Edge Technologies B.V. was founded in 2008 by the two owners. In 2020 it developed its first EV charger. In 2022 the company was split: Edge Technologies B.V. continues with large-scale telecom network support, and Edge FS B.V., EdgeTech, carries the charger and energy business.
What we do
We design the electronics and the software at the edge of the grid, where a charger, a heat pump or a battery meets the connection and something has to decide how much current is allowed right now. That has meant a charge controller, site controllers that read the smart meter and balance a group of chargers, a wireless variant for sites without cabling, a platform with an app and firmware updates in the field, and now Matter, S2, EEBus and the integration of everything else in the house or the building.
Who we are
Two engineers, both PhDs in applied physics, with decades of experience in software and hardware, from architecture down to debugging, and a background in systems and signals. A sales consultant and a technical advisor work with us. We do not put names on the site; you reach us by role.

Why small is right
Charger electronics are not hard because of any single part. They are hard because a car from 2019 sleeps differently from a car from 2024, a meter in Belgium sends a slightly different telegram, and a WiFi module in a steel meter cupboard behaves differently from one on a desk. Solving that takes people who see the whole chain from pilot signal to app and have watched a fleet for years. When a project needs more hands, we bring in the partners we have used before and stay responsible for the result.
